PUTTING YOU AT EASE
As a certified Advanced Colon Hydrotherapist, I understand that you may feel a little uneasy or shy before your first treatment. I will do all I can to put you at ease and ensure that you are comfortable before and during your colonic. Client dignity is always respected and preserved. I do not leave the room during the colonic treatment. If you feel uncomfortable at any time during the colonic, you're welcome to ask me to stop!
EQUIPMENT USED
Holistic Hydro uses digital equipment with electronic temperature control and pressure sensing, linked to a triple filter water purification unit. Warm, three-stage filtered water is slowly infused into your colon. Gentle massage can be used to stimulate the release of accumulated matter and gas.
Disposable(single-use) speculum, water inlet and waste outlet tubing are used for each client and clean linen and towels are provided.
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?
You will need to remove clothing from the waist down, so it is preferable that you wear a top and pants or skirt.
While lying on your left side, a disposable speculum is gently inserted ± 4cm into your rectum. A slight amount of discomfort is to be expected, but it should not be painful.
A disposable inlet and outlet tube are attached to the outside of the speculum to provide a flow of clean filtered water going in and water and waste going out. You will then be asked to turn onto your back. The filtered water is administered at low, carefully controlled pressure (lower than is normally generated during a bowel movement). The water acts as a stimulant to tell the bowel it is full, and the bowel muscle responds by contracting and eliminating waste matter and water. It acts in the same way as when your bowel is full and you have the feeling you want to go to the toilet.
The waste is piped away, and since the whole system is closed, there is no odour or mess. The amount of waste eliminated depends on several factors, including your ability to relax, the condition of your general health, your diet, water intake, etc.
An implant (coffee, colloidal silver, electrolytes, probiotic, spirulina etc.) may be used at the end of your colonic. These are done on special request only and need to be booked in advance (24hrs notice). Click here to read more about the benefits of a coffee enema.
